IRCTC's package tour from Kerala-Taj Mahal
Kozhikode, July 28: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will conduct a package tour from Kerala to Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, at Agra, commencing on August 28 this year.
Titled as 'Bharat Darshan', the 12-day trip commencing from Thiruvananthapuram, would take the tourists to Goa, Jaipur, Delhi enroute to Agra, Abdul Majeed, Managing Partner of Associated Travels, entrusted with ticketing, told newspersons here.
On its return leg, the organisers proposed to take the tourists to Hyderabad and other important tourist destinations in South India, he said.
A tourist opting for a trip in the Bharat Darshan Tourist Train, which had a capacity to accomodate 400 passengers, would have to pay only Rs 6,295 for an adult and Rs 4,700 for children from 5 years to 12 years.
The fare included, expenses of food and accomodation. Besides, the passengers would be provided luxury buses at every tourist centre for site seeing, he said.
Claiming, that there was tremendous response from the people, he said more than 50 per cent berths were already booked since the opening of reservation a few days ago.
He said the trip was organised by a Chennai-based IRCTC licensee Travel Times. They had also proposed to conduct more similar tours to northern Indian cities from Kerala, he added.
