Increase number of judges in Madras HC: TN Bar Council
Chennai, July 28 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Bar Council members have unanimously requested the Chief Justice of India, the Chief Justice of Madras High Court and the Government of India to take immediate steps to increase the number of judges from 49 to 62 in the Madras High Court, according to a press release by the Bar Council here.
They also requested not to appoint any adhoc judges in Madras High Court and instead appoint permanent judges.
They also opposed the proposal of appointing retired judges of the High Court as adhoc judges.
