Haryana govt reserves seats in ITIs for Mewat region

Mewat, July 28 (UNI) The Haryana Government has reserved fifty per cent seats in the polytechnics and ITIs situated in the Mewat region for the residents of the area so that they can get technical education and become self-reliant.

This was stated by Governor A R Kidwai today while addressing a public gathering on the occasion of inauguration of health and kisan mela at Buraqua village in the Mewat district. The mela was organised by Human Resources Development Institute, Faridabad.

Lauding the efforts of the Institute for organising the mela, he disclosed that medical check-up of all the school going children would be conducted during the fair with the assistance of private practitioners to enable them to lead a healthy life. The Governor also distributed 50 sewing machines to the widows and poor women and tri-cycles and artificial limbs to 20 handicapped persons.

The Governor said that successful implementation of education, especially the technical education besides animal husbandry and horticultural schemes were imperative for the development of this area. He said that an Agriculture Extension-cum-Training Centre had been set up by Haryana Agriculture University at Mandkola village of the district so as to provide quality seeds to the farmers of this area and acquaint them with latest agricultural technology.

In addition to this, several other schemes such as dairy development, bee keeping and poultry development were being implemented in order to improve the economic status of the people of this area.
