Guwahati, July 28 (UNI) Four ULFA terrorists were arrested during separate operations in Guwahati and Upper Asom's Sivasagar district late last night, police today said.

Sivasagar SP Shyamal Prasad Saikia said the hardcore rebels-'lance corporal' of ULFA's '28th battalion' Amal Bora, alias Naresh Barua, and Moneswar Payeng-were arrested at Kakotibari under Sonari sub-division where they were taking shelter. A Chinese hand grenade, a mobile set and incriminating documents were seized from them.

One Prafulla Konwar, in whose house they were staying, was also arrested. All the three were remanded to five days' police custody.

Two other hardcore rebels were arrested during another operation in Guwahati.

Police said Ridumsa Mushahary and Uday Das were arrested from Garobasti under Dispur police station last night.

Three bombs, one programmable time device and a mobile phone were seized from the militants.

It is suspected that the rebels were planning to strike in the city on the occasion of the outfit's 'martyrs' day' yesterday.
