Direct recruitment: JAC to picket hospital on interview day
Puducherry, July 28 (UNI) Taking strong exception to JIPMER hospital management's action of recruiting staff directly, the Jipmer Anti Conversion (JAC) Peoples' Action Committee today announced organising a picketing stir before the hospital on the interview day.
Addressing a press conference here, JAC Committee President and CPI(M) Tamil Nadu state council member T Murugan said the Committee had putforth four demands before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the issue of autonomous status for JIPMER.
The demands were continuation of free treatment at JIPMER, continuation of imparting medical education at JIPMER, continuance of JIPMER employees as central government employees and recruitment to group C and D posts through the Puducherry Employment Exchange.
He said though discussions were on to settle the demands, the management had come out with an advertisement for direct recruitments.
Mr Murugan said a meeting of the standing committee was slated on July 30 to chalk out the next course of action.
