Delhi Police Constable threatens self-immolation near PHQ
New Delhi, July 28 (UNI) A Delhi Police Constable today allegedly threatened to commit suicide near the police headquarters at ITO.
Said to be ''mentally sick'', Constable Sanjiv, posted at the District Intelligence Unit in South Delhi, was taken to the I P Estate police station after he created a nuisance on the road, said Delhi Police spokesman Rajan Bhagat.
''A case of misconduct against him was pending.'' In his 40s, Sanjiv was taken to police station, and later let off, after he stood at the ITO crossing at about 1100 hrs and started babbling about why a case against had been made and that he wanted to go to the PHQ to meet officers, he said.
Dismissing reports that the constable tried to immolate himself, Mr Bhagat said he had no inflammable material in his possession.
