10 more Myanmerese poachers nabbed

Port Blair, July 28: The Coast Guard (CG) in Andaman sea has arrested 10 more Myanmarese poachers in the ongoing anti-poaching operation.

Officials here today said this was the third incident in the past three days wherein the Coast Guard had apprehended the poachers from different parts of the union territory.

A CG helicopter was launched for the operation in the armed configuration early yesterday.

CG PRO Commandant Akshay Jain said the poachers fled into the jungle on sighting the CG personnel and the helicopters.

Later, the CG asked the Andaman police to carry out the search for the poachers, Commanoant Jain said.

The police along with CG personnel after long hours of search sighted a boat hidden in a creek and apprehended the ten poachers.
