Light to moderate rains in Pune

Pune, July 27 (UNI) Several parts of the city received light to moderate showers for the second consecutive day today, after almost a gap of one month.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, the city has received 4.2 mm rains. Rain and thundershowers would continue to lash the city for the next 48 hours, said the met department today.

Meanwhile, the met department officials said the rains were due to local weather conditions. The regular monsoon is still in a subdued condition, they said. The IMD has forcast that the south-west monsoon would take another week to reach here.

Though no rain-related incident was reported, many low-lying areas in the city were waterlogged, police and fire brigade sources said. Vehicular traffic was also disrupted in some parts of the city.
