Leopard kills girl in Rajouri

Jammu, July 27 (UNI) A leopard killed a seven-year-old girl in the Rajouri district, police said here today.

The leopard sneaked into the house of one Muhammad Jabar in Gombir Muglain village of Rajouri district, about 2130 hrs yesterday and took away his daughter, the police said.

Police along with the villagers searched the girl in the nearby forest area but did not find her but the half-eaten body of the girl was recovered by the villagers from the adjoining forest this morning.

This is the second such incident in the district during this week.

Earlier, a leopard killed a woman at Nowshera in Rajouri district.

Bimla Devi, a resident of Dharyata village, had gone to the forest to graze her cattle when she was attacked and killed by the leopard.
