Godrej Industries clocks a profit of Rs 32.5 crore for Q1

Mumbai, July 27 (UNI) Godrej Industries Limited net profit was up by 97 per cent at Rs 32.5 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal compared to the same quarter of previous fiscal.

Subsidiary, Godrej Properties Limited(GPL), real estate developer, has recorded a revenue growth of the 85 per cent followed by the chemical division of the company, which posted a growth of 76 per cent. The export sales of the chemical divison grew by 63 per cent.

After announcing the results, Adi Godrej, Chairman of the company said, '' Our continued focus on strategic investments in group companies and our diversified portfolio is yielding attractive returns''.

In the first quarter, the company got into multiple real estate projects in cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad.

The company also acquired Sara Lee Household and Body Care in India and Sri lanka. The acquisition has added brands like Kiwi and Brylcreem to its portfolio.

Meanwhile, the other divisions of the company such as Godrej Global Solutions, Godrej consumer products and Food& Bevarages has shown steady growth in the first quarter compared to the previous year.
