Warm humid weather returns to Delhi, mercury rises to 37.7

New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) After a pleasant weather since the beginning of the week, warm and humid conditions today returned to Delhi with the mercury shooting up to 37.7 Degree Celsius, four degrees above normal.

With the skies opening up after four days the maximum temperature shot up to 37.7 Degree C, four degrees above normal, leaving Delhiites sweltering under heat and humidity.

The minimum also rose to 28.6 Degree C. Rains eluded the city for the second consecutive day today.

The warm and humid weather could prevail in the coming days with the weathermen saying the monsoon was likely to remain in a weak phase for the next four to five days.

''Numerical Weather Prediction models suggest that Southwest Monsoon is likely to remain in a weak phase for the next 4-5 days,''the Met office said.

The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with rain and thundershowers in some areas.

The capital has been experiencing pleasant weather since the beginning of the week with a few spells of rain recorded over the last few days.

The city witnessed a spell of heavy rain on Tuesday which brought the mercury down to 34.4 Degree C.
