Via to provide online inventory, e-ticket facility to bus operators

New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) Banglaore-based travel services company Via will offer leading bus operators in the country the convenience of directly hosting and managing their inventory online along with the facility to directly sell their tickets to travellers.

With this, Via will power the online inventory of bus operators on their websites, enabling customers to book tickets online on www.viajustgo.com.

Payment will be through credit cards and an e-ticket will be issued, which can be used to board the bus at the pickup point.

To this effect, Via today joined hands with Punjab's leading private bus operator Indo-Canadian Transport Company and Delhi's Vivek Travels.

The tie-up will enable Via to sell the tickets of both the companies for their buses directly on their websites--www.indocandiantranport.com and www.vivektravels.com-- as well through the entire agent base of over 4,000 agents across the country.

''As we move forward, we will partner other leading bus operators and give them the power to sell their inventory online,'' said Via's Chief Operating Officer Niranjan Gupta.

''We are very keen to understand the needs of the industry and help bus operators in the country streamline their operations efficiently and provide them a strong distribution channel through our platform,'' added Via Director Amit Aggarwal.

Earlier, Via had announced its partnership with Andhra Pradesh's leading bus operator Sree Kaleswari Travels to put the company's bus inventory online, the first ever bus company in AP to offer such service.

Last month, Via also secured a five-million-dollar funding from NEA INDO-US ventures to expand its services and secure its leading market position in the segment.
