Terex Vectra plans to sell 700 Backhoe loaders

Mangalore, July 26: Terex Vectra Equipment Limited, a 50:50 joint venture of Terex Corporation, USA and Vectra Limited, UK had targeted to sell 700 TX760 Backhoe Loader during the current year in the country.

Addressing a press conference here last night, Amit Sood, General Manager (Marketing) of Terex Vectra, said that the company which had set up its manufacturing facility three years ago at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh to manufacture Backhoe loaders and skid steer loaders, had sold 968 backhoe loaders during 2006-07 and 391 and 139 machines in 2005-06 and 2004-05 respectively with doubling its sales on year-to-year basis, he said.

He said that 75 per cent of the components of the backhoe loader were manufactured indigenously to suit the Indian conditions. It plans to become number one in the manufacture of TX760 and Heman175 Skid steer Loader in the country by 2009.

The company was to double its turnover to Rs 300 crore during the current year from Rs 150 crore during 2006-07, he said.

He said that the company had also planned to take up manufacturing of other construction equipments in its Noida facility such as excavators and compactors very soon. It had sold 150 backhoe loaders in Karnataka last year. It had planned to sell three backhoe loaders per month in Mangalore.

The company had developed a wide and effective 35 dealership networks across the country for sale and afterservice of its products, he added. They have facilities with 68 branch offices employing company trained experienced workforce.

With the immense investment opportunities in the pipeline with wide construction activities, the company had chosen Mangalore as its third destination besides, Hubli and Bangalore, he added.

He said that Terex Corporation, USA, the third largest global construction equipment manufacturing company had 7.7 billion US dollar revenue during 2006. it operates in business segments of construction, cranes, aerial work platforms, materials processing and mining and road building, he added.
