Re 1, Rs 2 and Rs 5 notes not withdrawn from circulation: RBI

New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) The Reserve Bank today clarified that although the printing of Re 1, Rs 2 and Rs 5 notes have been discontinued, these denominations issued earlier will continue to be legal tender.

Earlier, the Bank has received reports that people are in doubt about the validity of these denominations.

The Bank said these notes not have been withdrawan from the circulation and will be used in settlement of transaction as in the past.
