Mumbai, July 26 (UNI) Special TADA court judge PV Bavkar today extended till August 2, hearing into the 1995 Pradeep Jain murder case that involves extradited underworld don Abu Salem.

Salem was produced before the court this afternoon in this connection. However, the charges against him and four other accused had already been framed during the last hearing.

Pradeep Jain, a builder from sub-urban Andheri, was shot dead by assailants at his office in March 1995. The murder was suspected to be the fallout of differences between Jain and Salem over development of a prime piece of land in Andheri.

Jain owned the land and Salem wanted him to sell it to another builder at a nominal price but when the former refused he was murdered allegedly by the latter's henchmen.

Apart from Salem, four others were arrested in the case include Virendra Kumar Jhambh, Naeem Khan, Riyaz Siddique, and Mohammed Mehndi Hassan alias Sunny.
