Pondy: Numismatic Society to conduct exhibition

Puducherry, July 26: The Puducherry-based Thondaimandala Numismatic Society will hold a three-day exhibition on 'Ancient Coins and Currencies', for a second sucessive year here from July 27 to 29.

Talking to newspersons here yesterday, President of the Society T N Gopiraman said there would be display of old stamps at the fair and around 25 collectors of coins,currencies and stamps would participate in the exhibition.

Mr Gopiraman said the purpose of the exhibition was to generate information and features of the coins in different shapes and materials that were in circulation during different dynasties.

M Dorairasa,the president of the Cholamandala Numismatic Society would be conferred upon the ''Nanayamani'' award at the exhibition, to be inaugurated by Welfare Minister M Kandasamy.
