Notice to Punjab govt on Chahal's application

Chandigarh, July 26 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice for August 6, to the Punjab government on an application of B I S Chahal, media advisor to former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, seeking to shift him to any jail outside Punjab, including Ambala in adjoining Haryana.

The notice was issued by Justice Uma Nath Singh while disposing the application received by the court through the jail authorities from Chahal, who is currently under detention at Patiala central jail.

Chahal's application came in the wake of his allegations of torture narrated to Justice Singh two days back, when he broke down in the court room. Chahal had also prayed for entrusting investigation of all his cases to CBI.
