More entry tax on beedi and plastic tanks in MP

Bhopal, July 26 (UNI) Beedi and plastic water storage tanks, brought from other states, will attract higher tax in Madhya Pradesh.

The Madhya Pradesh Local Area Goods Entry Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2007 was unanimously passed in the Assembly today.

''Entry tax on beedi has been hiked from 2.5 to 10 per cent.

Corresponding figures for tanks are 0 and 5 per cent. VAT on tanks produced in the state was reduced from 12.5 to 4 per cent,'' said Commerce and Industry Minister Babulal Gaur.
