Monsoon weak over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka

Bangalore, July 26 (UNI) Follosing is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Siddapura, Joida 7 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Kollur 5 each; Udupi, Sirsi, Yelandur 4 each; Bhatkal, Afzalpur, Kottigehara, Ajjampura 3 each; Shirali, Hangal, Bidar, Deodurg, Manvi, Chamarajnagara 2 each; Bantwal, Mani, Sulya, Dharmasthala, Puttur, Subramanya, Kundapur, Kota, Honavar, Kumta, Karwar, Kiravatti, Ranebennur, Shorapur, Tyagarthi, Belur, M.M.Hills, Magadi, Ramanagara, Hadagali, Agumbe 1 each.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka&South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over remaining districts of the State.

Heavy rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers.
