Militants beheaded suspected informer, shepherd killed

Jammu, July 26 (UNI) A group of militants beheaded two civilian in a remote mountain village in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban and Doda districts late last night on suspicion of being an informer of security forces.

Basant Kumar Rath, SP Ramban said Four militants barged into the house of Mohammad Ibraham, 45, in Sumbher village in Ramban, about 180 km north of Jammu, late in the night and beheaded Ibraham.

The militants however, managed to escape after committing the crime but search operation to capture the militants is still on, sources said adding that Ibraham could have been killed on suspicion of being an informer of the security forces.

In another incident, a shepherd was killed by the militants at Nighar Dhok in Marmat area of Doda district yesterday morning.

He has been identified as Chaman Lal, 32, son of Jameet Ram, a resident of Mangota, Marmat.

Police said Chaman Lal had gone to graze his cattle in Nighar Dhok.Chaman Lal was asked to handover his cattle to a group of militants, who intercepted him on his return to his house at Mangota.

As Chaman Lal refused, the militants killed him by slitting his throat and escaped.

A police team have left for the spot.
