Mayor attack: Central BJP leaders to visit Jamnagar
Rajkot, July 26 (UNI) Taking serious note of alleged attack on Jamnagar Mayor Manaharsinh Zala by Congress workers, three national BJP leaders are arriving in Jamnagar tomorrow to get first hand report on the matter.
Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Rupani told UNI over phone that the leaders include Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Prakash Javdekar and Satyanarayan Jatia, who will reach Jamnagar tomorrow around noon.
He will also join them to assess the situation first hand, on the Mr Rupani said.
Some of the Congress workers allegedly barged into Mayor Manahrsinh Zala's chamber and threw crude oil on him in a failed attempt to burn him alive on Tuesday.
A police complaint has been filed against the suspected persons.
Yesterday, a 'dharna' was staged by BJP Mayors of Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Vadodara and Junagadh in Jamnagar to protest the attack.
