Man gets 10 years RI for raping married woman

Kolhapur, July 26 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) for raping a married woman of backward class last year.

The second Additional District Court Judge A R Vyas found Appasaheb Shripati Buchde of village Holondee in Hatkanangale tehsil of the district guilty of the crime under Atrocity Act and awarded the sentence.

On August 26 last year, Buchde forcefully picked-up the woman from a field near the village and raped her.

A total of nine people stood as witnesses in the case.
