Lenovo to pump in $10 mn to set up plant in HP
New Delhi, July 26: To improve supply chain and enhance customer experience, global PC maker Lenovo will invest 10 million dollars to build a manufacturing plant at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh which is expected to start production by this year-end.
''India is a strategic market for us and we want to improve our supply chain to remain competitive,'' Lenovo Vice President (Global Manufacturing) Jeffrey Gallinat told reporters here today.
The Baddi plant, spread across four acres of land, will give employment up to 350 people in India, he added.
In addition, the company will also set up another plant at Monterrey in Mexico, entailing an investment of 20 million dollars that would be operational by mid-2008.
