Kathakali exponent Kumaran Nair passes away

Perinthalmanna, Kerala, July 26 (UNI) Well-known Kathakali exponent 'Padmasree' Kizhpadam Kumaran Nair passed away in a private hospital here early today.

He was 93. He is survived by eight children.

Nair had acted in the famous Mohanlal-starrer Malayalam film 'Vanaprastham' in a brief role, and was also the dance director for many Tamil films.

Many artistes and literary celebrities in the state condoled his death.

The funeral would be held at Ivor Madam later in the day, family sources said.
