Indus Fila records growth in first quarter results

Mumbai, July 26 (UNI) Integrated fashion and textile manufacturer, Indus Fila Limited has witnessed jump in sales of 112 per cent to Rs 86.18 crore for the quarter ended June 30 as compared to Rs 40.61 crore for the same period last year.

The earning before Interest, Depreciation and Tax stands at Rs 18.03 crore, a 137 per cent increase over Rs 7.61 crore for the first quarter of the previous year financial year.

The company's Profit After Tax has increased 130 per cent to Rs 8.20 crore in the Q1 FY08 over Rs 3.57 crore for Q1 FY07. The Earning Per Share of Indus is Rs 4.26 as against Rs 2.68 for the first quarter of FY07.

Nitin Mandhana, Vice Chairman&MD, said, ''The past quarter has been a very eventful one for Indus as reflected in our quarterly figures. Capacity expansion in Banaglore and the new trouser plant will see our manufacturing capacity increase to 42000 pieces''.

Indus has also acquired a 51 per cent stake in Indus Garments (India) Pvt. Ltd., for a consideration of Rs 9.35 crore on July 5, 2007.
