HPCC expels Vijay Kumar Joshi, recommends Mankotia's expulsion

Shimla, July 26 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) President Viplove Thakur today expelled Mr Vijay Kumar Joshi from the primary membership of the party and recommended the expulsion of suspended party leader Vijai Singh Mankotia to AICC.

Mr Joshi has been expelled from the primary membership of the party for six years, she said in a release here.

Ms Thakur said since Mr Mankotia was an All India Congress Committee (AICC) member, the state unit has recommended Mr Mankotia's expulsion from the party for six years following his anti-party activities.

Though the Congress has not assigned any reason for the expulsion of its leaders, it is widely believed that the action had been taken against them for joining the state unit of the BSP, which was formally launched at a rally at Dharamshala in Kangra district of the state early today.
