HC asks Magistrate to explain conduct in minor's rape case
New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today asked a Metropolitan Magistrate to appear before it on August 14 in connection with a rape case.
Taking suo motu cognizance of an e-mail that Metropolitan Magistrate Burkha Gupta at Rohini Courts did not allow the police to register the statement of the minor victim on May 30, a Division Bench comprising Justices R S Sodhi and H R Malhotra asked Ms Gupta to appear and explain her conduct.
A counsel representing National Human Rights Commission briefed the court about how it would assist the police in investigations and the victim.
