Duty on crude palm oil, including crude palmolein stands at 45 %

New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) The government today clarified that import duty on crude palm oil, including palmolein, stands at 45 per cent with effect from July 23, 2007 and thus all imports on or after this date will attract this level of duty.

The clarification had become necessary due to discrepancy between a press release and notification in this regard. While the press release dated July 23 had stated that duty on crude palm oil, including palmolein, had been reduced from 50 per cent to 45 per cent, the notification on the subject had inadvertently indicated that duty on crude palm oil, including palmolein, had been reduced from 50 per cent to 40 per cent.

The release today clarified that the import duty on crude palm oil, including crude palmolein, stood at 45 per cent.
