Chargesheet against former DM and DDC of Begusarai

Patna, July 26 (UNI) State Vigilance Bureau today submitted chargesheets before the special courts in two separate cases of corruption against 21 people, including the then District Magistrate and Deputy Development Commissioner of Begusarai.

The first chargesheet was submitted before the Special Vigilance Judge S P N Singh under the various sections of IPC and prevention of corruption act. Former district magistrate Hari Kishore Prasad and deputy development commissioner of Begusarai were among the 12 chargesheeted accused in the case, and were present in the court. The case was related to financial irregularities of over Rs 20 lakh in installation of smokeless ovens in Begusarai district during 1989-90.

The second chargesheet was submitted before the designated Judge S K Panwar under the various sections of the IPC and prevention of corruption act against nine people, including the then executive engineer of building construction division.

The case was related to the fradulent withdrawal of lakhs of rupees during construction of civil court buildings in Ara and Buxar district in 1995.
