Pondy: Woman murdered by her bodyguards

Puducherry, July 25: A 38-year-old woman was found murdered at Lawspet near here.

Police said Rathinam (38), a widow, working as a marriage broker was found missing since July 6 and her mother had lodged a complaint with the Lawspet police. In her complaint, the woman had stated that Rathinam was having four bodyguards.

Meanwhile, police intercepted one of the bodyguards Bhuvan alias Bhuvaneendran and, on interrogation, he revealed that he and the other three bodyguards killed Rathinam and dumped her body into the septic tank of an unused toilet, as she tried to cheat one of them.

Police retrieved the decomposed body of Rathinam from the tank and conducted post-mortem.

Bhuvan was arrested. Efforts were on to trace the other three accused, police added.
