Woman commits suicide after poisoning 3 daughters

Aligarh, July 25 (UNI) Cornered by her economic condition, a woman committed suicide after poisoning her three daughters in Atrauli area of the district.

Usha Devi (40) consumed sulphas tablets after poisoning Sapna (22), Swati (12) and Puja (8) at her residence in village Bijauli yesterday, police said today.

The quartet were rushed to hospital in a serious condition, where Usha and Sapna were declared brought dead. Later, Puja also succumbed, while Swati was said to be out of danger.

According to police, Usha was reeling under an acute financial crisis crises and used to have regular quarrels with her inebriated husband Kaushal Sharma.

Investigations were on.
