Ranchi, July 25 (UNI) Accusing politicians for the deteriorating law and order in Jharkhand, the traders in the state have decided to go for ''social boycott'' of politicians.

Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) Arun Budhia told UNI today that the business community was facing huge threat due to increased criminal activities in the state.

Referring to the recent abduction of Jamshedpur based steel trader, Biswanath Garg, who was kidnapped on July 18, Mr Budhia said police was yet to trace him.

President of Jharkhand Small Industries Association (JSIA) Bikas Singh said corruption was rampant in the state and the government had not done anything substantial to curb the menace.

He further informed that they would not invite any politician in any of their social function.

Peeved over Chief Minister Madhu Koda's refusal to meet the traders on July 23 to discuss on issues, including non-formulation of vital industrial policies, frequent bureaucratic reshuffles and complexities in VAT, the JSIA president said once people stop giving attention, the government would automatically pursue the public cause.

Yesterday, more than 100 members of FJCCI assembled at Birsa Munda Airport and held demonstrations before Mr Koda, who was scheduled to board a flight to attend a function organised in honour of President Pratibha Patil.
