Sify launches video steaming website in Chennai

Chennai, July 25: Sify.com, the leading consumer portal from Sify Limited, a leader in consumer internet and enterprise services in the country announced the launch of www.chennailive.in, the first website for Chennai with live video steaming.

Launching the website here last night, Tamil Nadu IT Secretary Dr C Chandramouli said with its exciting and extensive city-centric content, the website would enable citizens of this metroplis to keep abrest with the happenings in the city anytime and anywhere.

The portal would also help people living overseas to stay in touch with their favourite city, he informed.

V Sivaramakrishnan, President of Sify Limited, said after the successful launching of similar website in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, they have launched this exclusive website in Chennai as the fourth city portal.

A primary feature of this website was live video feeds from traffic web-cams stationed at key junctions of the city, so that citizens could plan their routes by checking the site for overcoming traffic congestions. Users could access the live video steamning of the traffic in the city at any given point of time, he added.

He said they intended to introduce more such city-centric website to create online communications as a platform to share their views, discuss local topics and build their own personal space online.

The site would include video sections across categories like information on the latest happenings in the city, gossip and updates on Tamil movies, video reviews of the most happenings hot-spots in the city, hottest deals, reviews of the best known eateries and many more, he said.

Other offerings, including city news, news in Tamil, classified and directory listings and city maps, he added.
