REVA electric Car Company launches 'Revai'
Bangalore, July 25: Country's leading electric car manufacturer REVA electric Car Company (RECC) has launched its new model 'Revai' which comes up with additional features here today.
While announcing the launch of new model of Rewa, Deputy Chairman RECC Mr Chetan Maini also informed that that the company proposes to invest US Dollar 20 Million for expansion and targeted to produce 30,000 cars per year.
"It was proposed to invest about US Dollar 20 Million by December 2007 for expansion in India and abroad and it was targeted to produce 30,000 cars per year from the present 6,000", he added.
Mr Maini was speaking after launching 'REVAi' the new model with features including AC drivetrain besides maintaining its environment friendly and intelligent solutions for the city mobility.
Stating that 70 per cent of the REVA cars were exported, he said that also company proposes to expand its sales network in Norway, Spain, Austria and Germany. REVA has already made its presence in UK with more than 1000 of its cars running in London.
The Company proposes to release new model every year, he added.
Replying to a question, Mr Maini said that the domestic sale of Electric Car was not much popular due to various factors including its cost. The high Customs and Sales tax levy had come in the way to bring down its cost and make it affordable to all segment of customers.
Explaining the new features, he said that the new modal was 40 per cent energy saver and has speed capacity upto 80 km per hour against 65 km per hour in earlier models.
REVAi, priced of which starts at Rs 3.49 lakhs, available in over 2000 eco friendly colours, climate controlled seats, leather seats.
