Post 7 Wonders: Security beefed up at Taj Mahal
Agra, July 25: Providing security to the Taj Mahal in the backdrop of possible terrorist attack is becoming a major challenge to the administration as an increasing number of tourists throng for a glimpse of the monument.
Tourist flow to the Taj has increased substantially following the inclusion of the monument in the New Seven Wonders of the world.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) deputy commandent Raveendra Kumar today told UNI that Taj had been on the hit list of terrorists for long, thus a large public turnout was posing even a greater challenge to the security agencies.
Devouts visiting Ajmer's Moin-ud-din Chisti during 'urs' are also expected to throng Agra on their return journey, thus extra force had been deployed to avoid any untoward happening, he informed.
