Patients in BMC-run hospitals to get good quality food
Mumbai, July 25 (UNI) The patients admitted in the 27 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)-run hospitals will be provided with good quality food at a cost of Rs 1.65 crore to the Corporation.
There was some opposition on the cost of various items, but the proposal was cleared by Additional Municipal Commissioner R A Rajiv after he held discussion on the same with the Standing Committee members.
The food items include pulses, eggs, bread and tea. The members in the Standing Committee had some doubts regarding the cost of the products.
Waqrunissa Ansari (Congress) said ''The food is for the patients and should be cleared and care should be taken that the quality of the food is maintained.'' NCP councillor Niyaz Ahmed Vanu said this was an yearly item that was passed by the Committee, and the Corporation has promised that it will see to it that the patients are given the best quality food.
