No ban on holding 'Nam Charcha' in Haryana: Govt
Chandigarh, July 25 (UNI) The Haryana government today clarified that there was no ban on holding 'Nam Charcha' (religious congregation) by the Dera Sacha Sauda followers in the state.
''The people of Haryana belonging to all religions and communities are free to worship and to perform their prayers according to their own rituals, customs and conventions,'' Chief Secretary Prem Prashant said while talking to reporters here.
The State government, he said, would not interfere in the religious routine of the people.
The Chief Secretary, however, appealed to all the communities to discharge their duties within the provisions of the Constitution and maintain peace and communal harmony in the state.
He said the endeavour of the state government was to maintain peace in the region. Nobody involved in disturbing the peace process would be spared, he added.
