LIC to enter EDMS to provide hassle-free services
Kozhikode, July 25 (UNI) The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will embark on Electronic Documentation Management System (EDMS) to provide hassle-free services to its policy holders throughout the country soon.
Talking to newspersons here, after inaugurating a satellite branch at Malappuram, LIC Southern Zonal Manager B Manivannan said EDMS had envisaged to scan about 22 crore policies in the next three years.
After the successful completion of the proposed documentation, the Corporation would be able to extend services to policy holders from any branch in the country.
LIC would target a total business of Rs five crore during the fiscal, he said.
Senior Divisional Manager of Kozhikode R Sreenivasan said the division had registered a business of Rs 121 crore from 88,000 policies till yesterday, recording a 20 per cent growth.
