Kutuhalamma assumes office as AP Assembly Deputy Speaker

Hyderabad, July 25 (UNI) Congress Legislator G Kutuhalamma today assumed office as Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker.

The four-time MLA and two-time minister, representing Vepencheri SC reserved constituency in the Assembly, thanked Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Congress President Sonia Gandhi for reposing faith in her.

She also thanked Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu and floor leaders of various parties for unanimously electing her for the post.

The Chief Minister and leaders of various parties felicitated her on becoming the first woman Deputy Speaker in the Assembly.

Members, cutting across party lines, hailed her election to the august office and urged her to facilitate discussions on various public issues.
