Four-day centenary celebrations to start from tomorrow

Mysore, July 25 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar will inaugurate a four-day centenary celebrations of the co-operative movement in Karnataka beginning here tomorrow.

As many as 50,000 delegates from across the state and other parts of the country are expected to participate in the event .

According to Mr Vasu, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the celebrations nearly 100 best cooperative societies and 100 distinguished people from the sector would be felicitated as part of the centenary celebrations. He said 15 people would be presented the 'Sahakara Ratna 'awards.

Experts from different disciplines of the cooperative sector like, milk producer' unions, women's cooperative societies, urban cooperative banks and credit cooperative societies would present papers related to their field during different sessions during the four day celebrations.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D kumraswamy will present Sahakara Ratna awards.

An exhibition on the cooperative movement was also organised on the occasion which would be declared open by the former Chief Minister and leader of the opposition N Dharam Singh tomorrow.

Karnataka Energy and PWD Minister H D Revanna will release the documentary on the 100 years of the cooperative sector in the state. District incharge and Cooperative Minister G T Deve Gowda will preside over the function. The celebrations would be conducted at the cost of Rs 1.5 crore.

Coincidence with the centenary celebrations of the cooperative movement in the state a four day 'Mysooru Utasava' a non stop celebrations would also commence from tomorrow. It would include spectacular dance delight Natya Vaibhava by Natyantaranga on July 26 while celebrations with Mano Murthy, Shreya Ghoshal and Kunal Gnajawalla, an evening with Shaan on July 28 and the event would be concluded with musical night by Udit Naraya held at different venus in the city of palaces which would enthrall the people of the city before the world famous Dasara festivities scheduled during October.
