Curfew in border areas along Tripura

Agartala, July 25: The West Tripura District Administration today promulgated night curfew in 500 metre areas of bordering locations along Indo-Bangladesh border till September 18 next.

An official statement here said civilian movements in the areas had been restricted between 2000 hrs and 0500 hrs within 500 metres of Indian territory and no one could move in the area without permission from the administrative authority.

''Following recent developments in the neighbouring country and increasing incidents of cross-border movement at some vulnerable locations in Western border of Tripura, authorities imposed night curfew,'' said a senior police official.
