Computers worth Rs 5 cr in 1000 schools of Guj villages
Ahmedabad, July 25 (UNI) In order to take the IT education to remote villages in Gujarat, the Central government has decided to donate Rs five crore worth of computers to schools in the villages in the state.
''The Congress-led Central government has decided to allot the grant of 75 per cent to the state government for this purpose,'' Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesman Shaktisingh Gohel told reporters here today.
''Computers worth Rs 6.70 lakh would be alloted to each of 1000 schools across the state,'' said Mr Gohel.
''Under the scheme, considering 75 per cent grant allotted by the Central government, the state government would just have to bear 25 per cent cost or Rs 1.70 lakh per computer,'' Mr Gohel said.
