Bramhani proposes to set up steel integrated plant
Hyderabad, July 25 (UNI) The Bramhani Steels Ltd proposed to set up an integrated steel plant in Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district with an investment of Rs 20,000 crore to produce 10 million tonnes of steel, in four phases, Andhra Pradesh Major Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy informed the State Assembly today.
In a written reply to P Keshav and other TDP members, she said the company promoted by G Janardhana Reddy would produce two million tonnes, with an investment of Rs 4,500 crore by 2009 in the first phase.
She said 2.3 million tonnes of production capacity would be added in the second phase at a cost of Rs 4,000 crore (2009-2011), 3.4 million tonnes in the third phase at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore (2011-2014). And 2.3 million tonnes production at a cost of Rs 6,500 crore (2014-2017) in the fourth phase.
The government had allocated 10,760.66 acres of land and accorded permission for supply of two tmc water from the Gandikota reservoir.
Power would be provided by Andhra Pradesh Transmission Corporation on usual terms and conditons, she said.
The iron for the plant would be provided by the Obulapuram Mining Company (Pvt) Ltd.
