Ariyur Sugar Mills crushes 2.5 lakh tonnes of sugarcane

Puducherry, July 25 (UNI) The Ariyur Sugar Mills, owned by EID Parry Pvt Ltd, crushed 2.5 lakh tonnes of sugarcane during December 2006 to June 2007 crushing season.

In a release here today, Mill General Manager Alex Anburaj said the price for cane from growers had been settled within a fortnight of purchase.

The machines of the mill, which had been defunct for three and a half years, had been rectified.

The additional crushing for 2006-07 would commence today.
