New Delhi, July 25 (UNI) Delhi's tryst with pleasant weather continued for the second day today with the a cool breeze and light rains maintaining the relief from warm and humid weather brought about by rains over the past couple of days.

A short burst of light rains in the afternoon brought coolness to the weather in the capital city even though heavy clouds hovering over the Delhi skyline led to a slight rise in maximum temperature to 35.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, Though only traces of rainfall were recorded till 1730 hours, the overcast sky threw up possibility of more rains during the next few days.

Infact, weathermen said Delhi and other parts of northwest India could witness fairly widespread rainfall activity over the next four to five days due to the axis of monsoon trough lying close to foothills of Himalayas.

''With the axis of monsoon trough lying close to foothills of Himalayas, Fairly widespread rainfall activity is likely over Northwest India during the next four to five days,'' the Met office said.

The Met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers.

The capital witnessed a bountiful spell of heavy rain yesterday which brought the mercury down to 34.4 degrees C and provided relief to Delhiites from warm and humid weather.
