752 pilgrims leave for Amarnath base camps

Jammu, July 25: A batch of 752 pilgrims today left for the Pahalgam and Baltal base camps from where they will move for the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath in south Kashmir, official sources said here.

The convoy of 26 vehicles, including 20 buses and six light motor vehicles (LMV), left the base camp of Maulana Azad Memorial stadium amid tight security for Nunwan (Pehalgam) and Baltal yatra camps at around 0500 hrs, they said.

The convoy included 448 men, 189 women, 21 children and 94 sadhus.

With today's batch, a total of 41,348 pilgrims have left for the holy shrine from the Jammu base camp since July 2, the sources added.
