Woman and girl washed away in a flash flood at Akola
Akola, July 24 (UNI) A woman and a girl were washed away, while two bullocks drowned due to a flash flood following incessant rains that lashed Panchgavan village in Akola district.
Devkabai Maroti Wankhade (65) and Chhaya Pralhad Wankhade (12) were washed away in a flood yesterday, when they were travelling in a bullock cart. Though the carcasses of the bullocks have been found, the aged woman and the girl are still untraceable, police said here today.
Besides, three houses were submerged in this flash flood.
Akola district received light showers, while nearby villages Akot and Balapur tehsil experienced heavy rains yesterday, officials said.
