Ujjain, July 24 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today said that a vice-president should be chosen not on the basis of caste and religion but on ''qualification and experience''.

''Dr Najma Heptullah has been made the NDA candidate on the basis of her experience and qualification,'' he told mediapersons prior to leaving for Delhi after the BJP Kisan Morcha's two-day National Executive meeting concluded in this ancient temple town.

Mr Singh stated that Madhya Pradesh's next Assembly election would be contested under Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's leadership.

''Strict vigilance should be maintained along the Indo-Pak border by immediately stationing adequate personnel,'' he added while slamming the Centre's stance vis-a-vis Jammu and Kashmir.
