Policy for development of handloom and handicraft soon: Naveen
Bhubaneswar, July 24 (UNI) The Orissa government will soon formulate a policy for development of handloom and handicrafts, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced here today.
Inaugurating the Apparel Training and Design centre, the Chief Minister said Orissa had already made its presence felt globally in handloom and now this centre would further boost the desingers.
The government was giving top priority to cluster development to achieve this objective, he added.
Steps would also be taken for setting up of textile parks, urban haat and for the revival of the closed spinning mills, he said.
State Handloom and Handicraft Minister Golakh Bihari Nayak, Chief Secretary Ajit Tripathy were among others present at the meeting.
