Mayawati govt issues new norms for red/blue beacons

Lucknow, July 24 (UNI) The Mayawati government has issued a new notification for plying of vehicles illegally fitted with red/blue beacons and black solar film.

According to the administrative sources today, under the recently issued notification, vehicles of the state Governor, Chief Minister, former CM, Vidhan Parishad Chairman, Assembly speaker, leaders of opposition both in UP Council and Assembly, ministers, HC Justice and Chief Justice and Lokayukta can be fitted with red beacons with flasher.

According to the notification, Vidhan Parishad Deputy Chairperson, Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker, state ministers, deputy ministers and district judges had been allowed to use red beacons without flasher.

Besides, divisional magistrates, Inspector General, DIG, District Magistrates, ADM, SSP, ASP, Chief Medical Officers, Exise and Trade Tax department officials, Chief Judicial Magistrate had been asked to put on blue beacon with flasher.

The state government had allowed the use of red/blue/white beacons in ambulences and fire brigade.
